Darcy O’Grady – President & Principal
Darcy O’Grady is a seasoned HR Executive who holds Chartered Professional HR designations in Canada and the USA and is Certified to offer Extended DISC assessments. He has a degree in economics, attended BCIT’s HR curriculum and Harvard’s Executive Leadership Education Program. After graduating from university, he worked as an analyst and then transitioned into Human Resources with a global oil company. He held roles as a recruiter, compensation & benefits analyst and generalist. He has done the work and has a keen understanding of the fundamentals.
His career success led him to HR responsibility at the Director, Vice-President, Senior Vice-President and Chief Human Resources Officer level within the high technology, engineering professional services and life-sciences sectors. This included experience in start-up / early stage companies helping them scale to successful multi-national ventures. He has built high-performing teams with many of his former reports now holding VP HR responsibility. He is a great mentor and developer of talent.
Along the way Darcy gained experience helping companies establish operations in Canada, the USA, Europe, Middle-East, South Africa, Australia, Japan and Asia. He has been through the IPO and exit/sale process, conducted many M&A due diligence assessments and led several integration planning and execution activities.
Professionally, Darcy has been very active in the HR community as a founder of the BC HR Technology Group where he also served as President and a Board member. He was also a member of the BC Premier’s Technology Counsel providing recommendations to enhance the sector. He championed and led the legislative change initiative for BC’s Employment Standards Act which introduced the High-Tech variance resulting in significant overtime pay reduction for the sector. He was the recipient of the CPHR BC Association’s Award for Professional Excellence as a result. He has also served as a Board member for the BC CPHR association and acts as a Board member for a charitable society.
